Horizontal security line

A horizontal anchor line is a flexible rope (cable), fixed horizontally, to which a worker is attached using a carabiner or moving slide-type protective equipment. It must be remembered that the anchor line is a means of collective security, and not PPE. It can be integrated on completely different surfaces: on concrete, on wood and on a metal roof.

The number of workers who can simultaneously attach to the cable and perform the necessary work is calculated individually for each system. The calculations take into account: the length of the anchor line, the length of the section to which the workers are attached, the height of the building, the material to which the anchor line is attached, the height of the anchorage in relation to the ground, as well as the possible pendulum effect when several workers fall at the same time.
